The Americanism Committee maintains an appreciation of our National Emblems and educates others of the significance in those emblems. This committee upholds the observation of Flag Day and participates in the National Anthem Essay contest. Our Americanism committee provides food to families at the Fisher House. As a member of this committee you will be asked to attend quarterly meetings to discuss Americanism focused lodge activities, help promote the essay contest and help deliver meals.
Our Veterans committee hosts monthly bingo at the VA hospital in Palo Alto. The committee also hosts summer BBQ’s at the VA Hospital. During the Holidays the Veterans Committee members and Santa visit the Hospital and deliver gift bags to the patients. As Veterans committee members you will be asked to attend monthly bingos, bbq’s and Holiday events. Being part of the Veterans Committee provides a wonderful opportunity to help the men and woman who have served our country.
The Antler Club
The Antler club offers leadership skills and community service opportunities for children 8-12. The Antlers meet monthly to participate in supporting the community through volunteer work. The Antler club also focuses on activities supporting our lodge. Member volunteers are needed to act as mentors for our youth, planning and organizing community outreach and lodge services. Get your teens involved! Teens 13 and older may help organize and supervise the Antler club while receiving community service hours.
The Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program is open to all boys and girls, ages 8-13. The Hoop Shoot Program provides a character-building, competitive experience for all kids. Through each of the levels of competition, kids support one another while learning from their unique strengths. As a volunteer of this program you will meet as a committee throughout the year to plan the Hoop Shoot event as well as work on promoting the program and working at the scheduled event.
The Scholarship Committee promotes our scholarship program to high school students. Our lodge is proud to offer scholarships to graduating seniors attending college. As a committee member you will focus on promoting our scholarship program, you will review the applications and play a role in choosing our scholarship recipients.
Extra help is always needed in organizing and running lodge activities. As an activities member you will be contacted by the committee chairman when help is needed. This is a fun way to offer a helping hand, meet members and help our lodge support its charity work.
